Correct Finger Placement
To type efficiently, it's crucial to maintain proper finger placement on the keyboard. Here are the key points to remember:
- Keep your palms facing down, floating slightly above the keyboard.
- Point your thumbs toward each other, resting them lightly on the spacebar.
- Place your index fingers on the F and J keys. These keys have small raised bumps to help you find them without looking.
- The rest of your fingers should naturally fall on the surrounding keys in the home row (ASDF for the left hand, JKL; for the right hand).
- When typing other keys, always return your fingers to their home row position. This helps you find keys more easily and improves your overall typing speed and accuracy.
